Sheet Pan Bacon

Bacon. Glorious, crispy strips of bacon. Baked in the oven so you can cook a whole pound at a time and not get splattered with hot grease standing over a popping sputtering skillet.

Ingredients

12-16 oz bacon

Directions

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Pick 2 baking pans with a raised edge all around so your bacon grease doesn't run off.

Line pans with baking parchment or heavy-duty aluminum foil (spray with nonstick spray if you're using foil).

Lay bacon out on pan. It's okay for the strips to be close, but you don't want them overlapping.

Bake in preheated oven for 8-12 minutes. Your exact time will depend on your oven, how thick your bacon is sliced, and how floppy or crunchy you like your bacon. Remove pans from oven and drain bacon on paper towels.

Tips

Cook times are approximate and will vary greatly depending on: your oven, the thickness of the bacon, and your desired crispness.

Cook the bacon a shorter time for softer, chewier bacon. Cook longer for crispier, crunchy bacon.

Thicker bacon takes longer to cook. Thinner bacon cooks faster.

If you want individual strips, be sure the bacon doesn't touch.

If you're planning on BLTs, leave the strips touching slightly so they cook together like the planks on a raft.
